Python after the BDFL

Python was invented by Guido van Rossum, who for almost two decades led the development of the scripting language as Benevolent Dictator For Life (BDFL). In July 2018, Guido surprised the community by standing down from that position, and challenged the core development team to come up with a new governance model.

This talk discusses the methodology used to achieve the new model, the alternative proposals that were made and the model eventually adopted It also introduces the initial and current members of the new governance body, and reports on experience since its inception.
