Network performance
Evi Nemeth
This tutorial covers aspects of network performance, both in
terms of issues that we as system/network managers can control
and ones that we cannot control. Several tools for measuring
network performance and for finding various bits of cruft on
our network cables are covered. New media options are briefly
mentioned.
Evi Nemeth is a faculty member in Computer Science Department
at the University of Colorado. She is an author of the dated, but
popular UNIX System Administration Handbook, which she and her
co-authors are busily revising. Evi is on the Board of Directors of
the Usenix Association.
