NLUUG Spring Conference 2013
May 16, 2013
Meeting plaza Maarssen
Cloud computing has gone beyond the hype. Many cloud providers use open source software to offer their services, and actively contribute to open source. Defined as "a style of computing in which scalable and elastic IT-related capabilities are provided 'as a service' to external customers using Internet technologies", it requires a new way of development and administration.
The theme of the NLUUG Spring conference will be “Open Clouds”. During this day we expect to hear how cloud services are experienced in practice, and how 'big data' applications are used there. Modern cloud platforms like OpenStack will be a subject, but also the question how to migrate legacy applications to the cloud, how to handle privacy and security, and why a cloud is not always the best solution.
